The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) continues to build the capacity of employers in Kenya. One such forum was conducted for the Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited (KENGEN) from 15th-19th April 2024 at Matendeni Staff Camp in Kamburu. A total of 24 Senior HR officers were trained in two areas.
In the first component the officers were taken through the Art of Collective Bargaining entailing the process of Collective Bargaining, how best to implement and manage CBAs, and tips to avoid pitfalls in the CBA cycle.
The second component was on Changes in Labour Laws & their implications for Employers. This was critical to empower the officers with skills and knowledge on how to handle the many changes recently introduced in Labour Laws and other Regulatory Structures which in turn are having a great impact on the labour ecosystem ranging from payroll management, and new HR practices to the management of employee relations and productivity. Some of these changes include new regulatory requirements, and laws such as the NSSF Act 2023, the Data Protection Act 2019, changes in the Employment Act, RBA Requirements and NEA Requirements. Others include the Finance Act 2023 and the Housing Levy Act.
