Menengai Oil Refineries Limited (MORL) has been taking up students directly from TVETSs and offering them industry and work exposure opportunities through attachment. Some of the students are retained after the attachment period.
The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) Projects team together with NHO Partners visited MORL to pay a courtesy call on the company, appreciate good efforts it has made and gain further insights into the programme. The team got a first-hand view of the preparation process of various soaps, cooking oil, detergents and skin care products and the entire supply chain. This also gave them a first-hand appreciation of the experience that graduates go through during their attachment, and how it prepares them better for the future.
FKE encourages more members to consider putting in place Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with TVETs and other learning institutions to promote Industry linkages and enhance job creation for graduates.
