The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) on the 25th of October 2024 hosted the International Labour Organization (ILO) for a review meeting on the ongoing projects that aim at enhancing social protection and labour standards in Kenya. Attending the meeting were the FKE delegation, led by Mr. Dickens Ouma, Head of Legal, Industrial Relations & Membership, representing Executive Director Ms. Jacqueline Mugo, and the ILO team led by Valerie Schmitt, Deputy Director of the Universal Social Protection Department.

In the discussions, Valerie Schmitt emphasized the importance of advancing social protection to boost workforce resilience and secure sustainable livelihoods. Schmitt further underscored the need for robust social protection strategies, particularly for employers and workers in the informal sector.

FKE and ILO reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaborative efforts that foster decent work and support sustainable employment initiatives for Kenyan employers and employees.
