The 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) Western Kenya Branch was held on 19th April 2024 at the Vic Hotel in Kisumu. The theme of the AGM was "Enterprise Resilience and Sustainability," emphasizing the importance of adapting to the evolving business landscape.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including our Chief Guest, Dr. Dishon Wanjere, Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Masinde Muliro University, FKE Regional President Dr. Margaret Oloo, Members of the Western Kenya Branch Executive Committee, FKE Board Members, and esteemed members of the FKE.
Ms. Jacqueline Mugo, Executive Director & CEO of FKE was also present and she delivered a comprehensive speech highlighting the key achievements and initiatives of FKE in 2023 and addressing regional issues that demand attention.
Ms. Mugo expressed gratitude for the continuous support of FKE members in the region and outlined the various services provided by FKE, including advocacy, legal advice, representation, labour relations, learning and development, member events, and the re-launch of the e-Waajiri Portal. She emphasized the importance of these services in enhancing workforce skills, improving productivity, and fostering a conducive business environment.
A highlight of the occasion was the keynote address delivered by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Dishon Wanjere, Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology.
The Western Region AGM in Kisumu laid a solid foundation for future engagements and collaborations. It provided a platform for members to voice their concerns, share best practices, and forge partnerships for collective action. Moreover, it highlighted the pivotal role of academia in informing policy discourse and driving socio-economic transformation. As FKE continues its journey of empowerment and advocacy, it remains committed to harnessing the collective wisdom and resources of its diverse membership base to shape a more prosperous and equitable future for all.
