The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) continues to champion gender equity in the future of work by empowering young girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Recognizing the underrepresentation of women in STEM fields, FKE is committed to bridging the gap through its impactful Girls and Tech program.

As part of this initiative, FKE hosted an inspiring outreach session at Githunguri Girls- on the 31st of March 2025 , featuring accomplished female mentors from the Technology and Engineering sectors. The mentors shared their personal journeys, shedding light on how they navigated challenges—including gender stereotypes—to succeed in male-dominated industries.

The students gained valuable insights into STEM courses and careers, including subject requirements, key skills, and academic pathways. Ms. Grace Kaome, FKE’s Head of Human Resource, offered practical advice on preparing for the job market, highlighting what employers seek during interviews.

This initiative aims to inspire young girls to dream big, pursue STEM opportunities, and break barriers—proving that with guidance and determination, they too can shape the future of work.
