On May 13th, 2024, he Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) and the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization, Turin – Italy (ITCILO)  officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at FKE HQ, Nairobi, Kenya.

This collaboration introduces the International Postgraduate Certificate in Industrial Relations in Kenya, which will be facilitated by FKE Faculty and the International Labour Organization (ILO). The program's holistic curriculum includes Physical Classes in Kenya, Virtual Classes by ILO Faculty, and Physical Classes in Turin, Italy, providing participants with a comprehensive career enhancement tailored for success in the global labour market. The MOU was signed by Ms. Jacqueline Mugo, EBS, Executive Director & CEO of FKE, and Mr. Paulo Salvai, ILO Program Director in Turin, Italy, in the esteemed presence of Ms. Caroline Njuki, ILO Kenya Country Director, and FKE Faculty, including Mr. Stephen Obiro, Head of Advocacy Policy and Research, Mr. Dickens Ouma, Ag. Head of IR, Legal & Membership Services, Mr. Samson Mugwe, Head of Finance & Procurement, Grace Kaome, Manager HR and Administration, and coordinated by Mr. Erick Munyobi, Manager FKE Consulting Department. 

In her opening remarks Ms. Mugo stated that by promoting the Decent Work Agenda in compliance with the ILO Conventions, FKE ensures that employers in Kenya are part of the global labor movement and embrace best practices. Ms. Mugo further highlighted said that having collaborated with ITCILO, FKE has laid a strong foundation for labor skills development in Kenya. Partnering on the 'International Post-Graduate Certificate in Industrial Relations' is a huge milestone, providing not only basic training but also a pathway for professional advancement in human resources and labor relations. On his part, Mr. Paulo Salvai, ILO Program Director, said that the International Postgraduate Certificate in Industrial Relations by ITCILO will go a long way in equipping individuals with essential skills and knowledge to address evolving challenges in industrial relations across borders. 

This certificate program fosters a deep understanding of international labor standards and best practices, preparing graduates to promote fairness and equity in diverse work environments. By bridging theory and practice, it empowers participants to drive positive change and contribute to the advancement of global labor rights and standards.
