On 20th March 2024, Ms. Jaqueline Mugo, EBS Executive Director and CEO of the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) hosted Albert Emilio Yuson, (Ambet), the General Secretary of Building & Wood Workers’ International (BWI), at Waajiri House, Nairobi.
The discussion primarily centered on the current state of labor reforms and the labor market situation in Kenya. Both leaders exchanged insights on national and global priorities, aiming to harmonize their strategies to better address the challenges and opportunities faced by both Employers and workers at local, region, and global levels. Ambet and Ms. Mugo delved into the specific challenges and opportunities in the Kenyan context, aligning their organizations’ priorities and strategies to foster a more equitable and productive labor environment.
This meeting underscored the commitment of both BWI and FKE to enhance the framework of social dialogue, emphasizing the critical role of cooperation and shared vision in advancing labor standards and practices that benefit workers and employers in Kenya and beyond.
