On 17th November 2023, at Villa Rosa Kempinski, Nairobi: A celebration that resonates with empowerment, resilience, and progress, the FKE Female Future Leadership Program (FFLP) marked its 10-year Anniversary alongside the graduation of cohorts 16 and 17 of remarkable women leaders. This milestone is not only a testament to the program's success but also a powerful statement about the enduring impact of women in leadership roles. This gathering was to commemorate a decade of growth, achievement, and empowerment.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Jacqueline Mugo, Executive Director and CEO, FKE emphasized on the power of a resilient woman. "Behind every successful woman is a well-worn path of resilience. That path is unique, a record of the daily decisions we’ve had to make, risks we’ve taken and obstacles we’ve overcome. Our paths are not easily forged, but the effort makes us wise, strong, and aware," said Ms. Mugo.
Ms. Mugo also applauded the graduands of Cohorts 16 and 17. "Today, we applaud the graduates of the Female Future Leadership program – a cohort of inspiring women who have dedicated themselves to personal and professional growth. Each graduate embodies the resilience, intelligence, and determination needed to excel in leadership roles. Their accomplishments during the program are not only a source of pride for themselves but also a source of inspiration for future generations of women leaders."
Gracing the event as the Chief Guest was the Norwegian Ambassador, H.E Amb. Gunnar Andreas, in his remarks he said that the FFLP is transformative and has a tremendous impact on women. He encouraged the public sector to be part of this agenda of empowering women as it would be for their benefit in the long run.
To mark the 10th year anniversary, FFLP also launched a new logo which symbolized a more composed, strategic and calm woman moving forward; this is what FFLP seeks to achieve through its impact on women.
The Federation of Kenya Employers looks ahead with optimism. The Female Future Leadership program has not only empowered individual women but has contributed to a cultural shift in how leadership is perceived. The future is female, and the celebration of this milestone knowledges that the next decade will bring even greater strides towards equality, diversity, and the full realization of women's leadership potential.
FKE is grateful to the development partners who have supported us, ensuring as many women as possible are trained; Norwegian Confederation of Employers (NHO) Norwegian Investment Fund – NORFUND and the Swedish Investment Fund – SWEDFUND
