As the most representative employers' body in Kenya, the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) is accredited by the Kenya government to represent Employers at the ILO conferences.

FKE is affiliated to the International Organization of Employers (IOE) and the Pan- African Employers Confederation (PEC). The President of IOE, Ambassador Abe Katz visited the Federation in November 2007 where he gave glowing tribute to the achievements of the Federation over the years.

The Federation also has correspondence relations with national employers’ centres in most English speaking countries and runs special technical programmes with selected donor agencies, which are of direct benefit to members.

The Federations Executive Director, Mrs. Jacqueline Mugo is an elected member of the IOE board, she is also a TITULAR member of ILO Governing Body (therefore granted the authority to vote for English Speaking African Countries at the International Labour Organization, and is also the Deputy Secretary General PEC.

FKE is a member of the Pan-African Employers Confederation which was established on 12th Oct. 1986 during the Pan-African Symposium for employers held in Cairo, Egypt.

The Federation collaborated with the Dutch Employers Cooperation Programme (DECP) to provide capacity building opportunity for the federation in critical areas; discussions between FKE and DECP begun during the ILO Conference in 2006. The DECP was set up as an independent foundation through which Dutch Employers would collectively offer their expertise to sister organizations in the developing world.
